I’m Michael Brierton, founder of Military and Cents, a Coast Guard member and finance professional with a background in accounting and banking. I started this site because I saw a gap: plenty of financial advice exists, but very little is tailored to the unique realities of military life. Whether it’s navigating underutilized benefits, making the most of military pay and allowances, or planning for life after service, I believe every service member deserves clear, practical, and trustworthy guidance.
